In 2009, New Jersey put in a formal legal challenge against PASAP, outlining that the law was unconstitutional as it gave some states, such as Nevada, more freedom than others. Sports betting has been legal in New Jersey since 2018, with the state being one of the first to allow both online and in-person betting.
